If you had MTV on at any time from 2007 - 2009 there is a very high chance you saw my work for various VMA and Movie Awards campaigns.
As an Associate Producer, I lead all the post-produced promos, specializing in the "Laundry List," an announcement of attendees and performers that would be walking our red, (or pink, or white) carpet. I spent late nights, early mornings, and many weekends cranking out spots, continuously revising, and delivering as celebrities confirmed their appearances. At this time, I learned to manage a large production team and developed an acute attention to detail.
In 2009, after years in LA, the show returned to NYC. We scored the rights to a then unreleased Jay-Z track "Empire State of Mind," which set the mood and energy of the time. I set out with my team and shot stills from Times Square to Coney Island. Working closely with designer Mary Hawkins we put together what became one of my favorite and final award show campaigns.
Additionally, I had a hand in the post-production and delivery of the larger Host campaigns. One of particular note was the 2008 Russell Brand and Britney Spears campaign that won an Emmy. That almost made up for not getting to meet Britney.
What I was not good at at his time was digitizing my work. I don't have all these spots to share digitally, but I do have the digi beta tape if you have a deck 😆
