The Real World Las Vegas marked my first time producing a season launch campaign. I was honored and stoked to lead promotions for such an important channel staple.
I teamed up with the MTV design team to create bright, captivating textural elements which we showcased in split screen fashion and became a trend for the times across the channel.
Additionally, I fought hard for the Ke$ha track. Since the track was costly, I was asked to cut the spot with multiple sound-alikes. In the end, my leaders agreed “Blow” brought an irreplaceable energy. It was a battle I’ll never forget and led to my pledge to always aim high and trust the power of music.
This season of the Real World was memorable because it was my first time working with then assistant editor, Rebekah Davis. I requested Becky as my editor for this project, knowing she was ready to move out of the assistant’s chair. I mentored her through the process and watched her bloom as she learned to speak up with suggestions that helped shape this campaign. Listening to beachy music and crushing on the guys from the season led to a memorable friendship as I found a teammate that I trusted throughout my years at MTV.
