My second season with the Nike Women’s Studio was nothing short of inspiring. The objective was to move away from the typical Nike narrative, which most often elevates professional athletes and champions success. Instead, we were directed to pull focus to the everyday athlete and small, relatable wins. The team opted to highlight Nike trainers whose stories were challenging and powerful as the season’s protagonists.
I worked closely with Brand Narrative Manager Elliott Kennedy and Senior Writer Beau Bernstein on the work. We crafted the trainers' stories through thoughtful and inspiring interviews. We showed the trainers at their most vulnerable—discussing personal ups and downs that made them relatable and redefined the meaning of success in fitness.
I completed the story for Nike Trainer Tara Nicoles. Her journey revolved around embracing imperfection after a pandemic induced slow down that left her appreciating and craving a more balanced lifestyle.
After writing Tara’s story, I was on to my next adventure. Leaving the Women’s Studio was bittersweet. I worked down to my very last hour to be sure the team felt my support and the reciprocation I received in return was heartwarming.
