Are You the One? was a unique, new dating show premiering on MTV. Our challenge was to be sure our audience knew this wasn't MTV simply trying to do The Bachelor. The plot was new and complicated, with many variables: love, money, perfect matches, "locking in," and a “truth booth.” We had to be sure to sell the premise of the show and its different elements in a concise, but engaging way. This wasn't just another dating show, it was the ultimate love experiment.
When season 2 rolled around, I was excited to engage with the show again, and with a little less pressure for explanation, we were able to have more freedom with storytelling.
