all good things

I have always loved a good sign off. I snagged this one from my favorite Creative Director, Lu Chekowsky. With Lu, I had my best, most successful years at MTV and as a strong female creative. 

Lu had an art print above her desk:

It was not just a poster, but a way of working that she implemented into those of us in MTV Brand Creative at the time.

Be kind. Be humble. Work hard. And never go too far for a ham sandwich.

Years later, when reconnecting with a former co-writer over drinks in Portland, we reminisced about those years and just how influential that state of mind has been as we continued our careers.

To me, the sentiment of “All good things” is the perfect representation of this mindset and it’s become a part of my professional DNA. Whatever life - or production - throws at us, it’s important to remember, it’s all good things.
